*Flat Fee Billing System:
Mailand Music Academy now does payments through a flat fee billing system. This means that we will offer 46 weeks of lessons throughout the year, and 6 weeks without lessons designated in a shared Google calendar. There will be a flat fee each month depending on your lesson length. (This flat fee will remain the same during 5 week months.)
This system allows you to know what your monthly payment will be since your total payment will not change regardless of cancellations or make-up lessons. This does not require you to do lessons for an entire year! You are able to stop lessons whenever you would like, all I ask is 30 days of notice ahead of time. If you decide to stop lessons in the middle of the month, the rest of those lessons are forfeit and you will not receive your money back for that month. You are welcome to finish the entire months of lessons you had paid for before completely stopping lessons.
*Payment due dates:
Payments are due before the beginning of their lesson of the first week of the month. Payment is due at this time even in the event that a student is not able to attend the first lesson of the month.
*Makeups:
Because you are paying for your time slot, makeup lessons will only be allotted for emergencies (death in the family, hospitalizations etc). I do not offer make up lessons for vacations, sicknesses, or appointments. If you are sick I do offer virtual lessons via zoom.
*My Individual lesson rate:
30 minutes: $45
45 minutes: $55
60 minutes: $70
Monthly Payment Totals: (46 weeks x My rate / 12 months= your flat fee for September - August. Totals are rounded.
30 minute monthly payment: $140
45 minute monthly payment: $190
60 minute monthly: $245
EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR LESSONS:
A piano/keyboard (88 fully weighted keys) must be owned and in working condition. A Drum-set, electric or acoustic. Electric guitar or acoustic guitar.
PERFORMANCE:
Performance for others is part of piano study. All are encouraged to participate in recitals and group masterclasses. If your child has opportunities outside of Mailand Music Academy to perform, please let me know! I would love to help them get ready for these performances and attend these performances if they are willing!
PRACTICE:
Regular and purposeful practice is the key to success in piano study. Mastery of any musical instrument requires work, concentration and commitment; and progress cannot be expected without adequate preparation. You should schedule a regular time for daily practice and be faithful to it. In practicing, quantity is valuable only when coupled with QUALITY. My suggested minimum time dedicated to practicing correlates with length of lesson time. Example: a student taking 30 minute lessons would practice 30 minutes a day. Practice time may also be broken up into two or more shorter sessions.
Finances:
If you are having difficulty with payments, please contact me and we can talk about creating a lesson plan that fits your budget. Some options for parents with multiple children is doing group lessons!
FINAL HEALTH NOTES:
-Please clip your fingernails once a week, if they are long, part of your lesson time will be spent clipping fingernails. This is because long fingernails prohibit proper playing technique and cause tension.
-Please keep your fingernails clean, especially prior to your lesson.
-Please wash your hands before each lesson.
-If you know you are ill, please go to a virtual lesson if you are able.
LIFETIME INVESTMENT:
Music lessons are an investment in a lifetime of musical fulfillment. It can also be the foundation for a lifetime of music appreciation. I’m looking forward to working with each of you this year to help you gain the skills needed to become a successful musician!
